Meet Cole

How/Why did you become a designer?

In high school I was a designer for the school newspaper. I liked working with print and publication, and wanted to learn more about it. I came to Melbourne to pursue my studies.

What do you love about designing the best?

I like when you hold the final result and you can see how it is a collaborative effort between design, product, and factory. Recognising the labour and thought that went behind something makes me feel happy for everyone involved.

3 fun facts about yourself:

1. I used to draw and sleep a lot in class. My teacher was worried about my performance but then she thought “well, she’s passing,” so she didn’t berate me for it. Thank you Ms. Jing.
2. My favourite colours are bold, primary colours. I have a collection of yellow things on my desk.
3. I really like playing Riichi mahjong.
